We are pleased to advise that construction is scheduled to begin on the new pedestrian crossover on Elgin Street North at Galt Avenue. Multiple contractors will be installing the various components of the crossing including: the pedestrian crossover equipment, traffic signs, pavement markings, additional street lighting and new accessible sidewalk connections. It is anticipated that implementation will begin on or about the week of October 7th and will take approximately three weeks to complete based on various contractor schedules. Weather and other unexpected delays could extend the completion of the work. It is expected that two-way traffic will be maintained during construction and existing sidewalks will remain open.
